Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor Antibody-Mediated Kidney Rejection Unresponsive to Treatment

نویسندگان

چکیده

Allograft rejection is a significant cause of renal transplant failure which needs prompt diagnosis and treatment for graft salvage. Angiotensin II type 1 receptor antibody-mediated (AT1R-AMR) increasingly being identified as the etiology in kidney recipients with allograft but without detectable human leukocyte antigen (HLA) antibodies. While some reports have suggested that AT1R-AMR may be refractory to standard therapy, others reported improvement or stabilization function. We present two patients anti-rejection therapy including therapeutic plasma exchange was unable salvage allograft.

Angiotensin II type 1 receptor antibodies in childhood kidney transplantation.

Angiotensin II type 1 receptor antibodies (AT1 RAb) have emerged as non-HLA Ab present in patients with acute AMR and risk of graft loss. Furthermore, AT1 RAb have been shown to increase angiotensin II sensitivity which may play a role in the development of CVD and hypertension. Data on AT1 RAb in stable transplant recipients are lacking. The aim of this study was to analyze the levels of AT1 R...

Antibody-Mediated Kidney Allograft Rejection

Successful kidney transplantation improves the quality of life and increases survival when compared with long-term dialysis. Renal transplantation is now a well established and the preferred treatment for most patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). In recent years, the short-term effects of kidney transplantation have been greatly achieved due to the improvement in immunosuppression medi...

Treatment of Antibody-mediated Rejection in Kidney Transplantation

Antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) is a relatively rare but severe complication in kidney transplantation associated with increased risk of graft loss. Diagnosis of acute and chronic AMR is based on typical histological hallmarks, deposition of C4d in peritubular capillaries and presence of donor-specific antibodies (DSA). Many novel and attractive treatment options have become available in rece...

Reactive oxygen species-mediated homologous downregulation of angiotensin II type 1 receptor mRNA by angiotensin II.

Recent studies suggest a crucial role of reactive oxygen species (ROS) for the signaling of angiotensin (Ang) II through Ang II type 1 receptor (AT(1)-R). However, the role of ROS in the regulation of AT(1)-R expression has not been explored. In this study, we examined the effect of an antioxidant on the homologous downregulation of AT(1)-R by Ang II. Ang II (10(-6) mol/L) decreased AT(1)-R mRN...

Angiotensin type 2 receptor actions contribute to angiotensin type 1 receptor blocker effects on kidney fibrosis.

Angiotensin type 1 (AT1) receptor blocker (ARB) ameliorates progression of chronic kidney disease. Whether this protection is due solely to blockade of AT1, or whether diversion of angiotensin II from the AT1 to the available AT2 receptor, thus potentially enhancing AT2 receptor effects, is not known. We therefore investigated the role of AT2 receptor in ARB-induced treatment effects in chronic...
